Help Save The Unicorns

Help Save The Unicorns

We're kicking off this year by giving back!

Help save the magical unicorns. But, "what is a magical unicorn?" you ask. Magical unicorns are amazing dogs who, for one reason or another, have simple been overlooked at crowded shelters. City shelters depend on rescues like A Purposeful Rescue in Los Angeles, California to help these magical unicorns find their forever homes, but APR needs volunteers and donations to make this happen.

We've teamed up with some amazing rescue friends and wonderfully huge hearted companies to help raise money and resources for the magical unicorns at A Purposeful Rescue. We would love your support too! Any donation made automatically enters you in a raffle to win a super mega prize pack loaded with prizes from Crazy Rebels (hello cozy hoodie!!), Allku Pets, Hadley Clay Studio, Lasso Dogs, My Le Dogue, The Max Bone and The TrackR.

Here's how you can help magical unicorns AND win a prize package for your dog:

ADOPTABLE DOG: Logan

ADOPTABLE DOG: Logan

 Name: Logan

Logan's Story:  Handsome Logan is the unfortunate victim of divorce. He was raised since puppyhood by a couple, who after getting divorced could no longer care for him. He was left with an elderly couple who cared for him, but not much else. He was essentially an outdoor dog being overfed, with no real exercise, interaction or fun. Lucky for him, Cool Dog Training offered to take him in and help re-home him. He is currently in foster care with the awesome trainer at Cool Dog Training, who has brushed up his obedience skills and made sure to shower him with love and exercise to get him back down to his target weight.

Breed: Doberman Pinscher

Health and Stats: Logan is a 5 year old pure bred Doberman Pinscher male. He just celebrated his birthday on October 11 (DOB 10/11/11). He is neutered, up to date on shots, and other than being a little overweight he is in great health. He currently weighs about 103 pounds but should be more in the 90 to 95 pound range.

Temperament: Logan is a straight love bug! This boy loves his people and loves to be loved! He has the sweetest temperament and is content to just chill. He does well with other dogs and people of all kinds. He loves kids and would make an excellent family dog! This dog is pure love.

Training & Daily Life: He is house trained and knows his cues, including: sit, down, wait/stay, place, come, and off. He is crate trained. He gets a B+ for leash walking. He would rather be with his human, so he stays in pretty close proximity. He does well in the car and house and would easily incorporate into a new home as he is very easy going. Unlike many rescue dogs who require a lot of work, Logan is ready to go. He really is a great dog!

Logan is available for adoption through Cool Dog Training in Southern California. There is a possibility for long distance adoption but the family or individual will need to come meet him with any of their pets. If you are interested in adopting Logan or have nay questions, please email Lynne directly at info@cooldogtraining.com.

ADOPTABLE DOG: Sir Clefton

ADOPTABLE DOG: Sir Clefton

This handsome guy has a special rescue story. An amazing human named Christine saw his picture up for adoption at the Downey Animal Care Center and was immediately on her way to save the day. You might recognize her as @chilberg on Instagram, mom to an awesome rescue pup named Puka. What you might also notice is that Puka and their new foster, Sir Clefton both have the cutest cleft lip and if you didn't know their story, you might think they were brother and sister.

So after fostering him for several weeks, it's time to find him a forever home of his own. Here's what his foster mom has to say about him:

Month of Giving

We are so thankful for so many things. Not the least of which is being able to do what we love every single day. Crafting quality gear for dogs is a true passion and we are beyond thankful that we have been blessed with the opportunity to deck out your dogs.

We work with rescues and organizations to give back all year long, but we thought we would up the ante this month in honor of Thanksgiving and work with as many rescues as possible to give back as much as possible! We started off with two raffle collars for a cause, but we’re just getting started. Thanks to YOU we've already raised over $1,000 in donations.

What we've got planned and how you can help us give back too:

November 1 - 7, Nightmare Before Christmas Raffle Collar for a cause! Raised $830 for Dobies and Little Paws Rescue in Fillmore, California. This wonderful organization rescues, rehabilitates, and rehouse hundreds of Dobermans and other breeds every year. Congratulations to the winner Sherry Rowland!

How you can help: Donate to Dobies and Little Paws Rescue and check out their adoptable dogs!

November 8 - 15, Walking Dead Raffle Collar for a cause! Raised $350 for the winners choice organization, Desert Harbor Doberman Rescue in Arizona. Congratulations to the winner Elizabeth Davis!

How you can help: Donate to Desert Harbor Rescue and check out their adoptable dogs!

November 14, "Home's Best Friend" Adopt-a-pet event in Ramona, California. Hosted by Coldwell Banker, they help people find homes on a daily basis and for this event their mission extends to helping dogs find homes too!  We donated a Doggy Spa basket to their Silent Auction to raise funds for Adopt-a-pet.com. There are tons of fundraising events during the holidays, so while you're enjoying friends and family be sure to remember those in need as well!

How you can help: Donate items to an organizations silent auction or raffle for a cause.

November 16 - 22, Raffle to Win a Crazy Rebels prize pack valued at over $100 sponsored by a super generous human being, Tiffany Armstrong! Winner scores a $50 gift certificate to CrazyRebels.com and two rebel bandana collars of their choice! 100% of proceeds will benefit the 100+ Abandoned Dog Rescue.

How you can help: Get your raffle tickets here!

November 18, Cozy Donations to your local shelter. This time of year it gets cold for lots of shelter animals, so any donation of gently used blankets, towels, and dog beds is greatly appreciated by your local shelter. We'll be donating to Animal Friends of the Valleys in Wildomar, California.

How you can help: Clean out your linen closets and donate to your local shelter or rescue.

November 21, Donate your time. On November 21st we'll be spending the day loving on adoptable Dobies from Dobies and Little Paws Rescue. Aside from the feeding, cleaning, and exercising of shelter pets many organizations need volunteers just to hang out with the dogs and spend time giving them love and attention. Shelter pets are so appreciative of your love, so take a little time to donate your time.

How you can help: Volunteer at your local rescue or shelter.

End of November, Donate TOYS! Shelter dogs love to play too! Our chuck-it loving Doberman Dakoda will be generously donating 100 chuck-it balls to several Southern California shelters.

How you can help: Buy a few new toys to donate to your local shelter!

We love to give back! And we love when you get involved too! Show us how you're helping dogs in need and giving back to your community on Instagram with the hashtag #crazyrebelscares.
