WORLD FAMOUS DOG COLLARS #CRCOLLARS

Everyday Heros

Last week Southern California experienced over three dozen wildfires. Fueled by a heatwave and crazy winds the fires spread quickly, tearing through San Diego and displacing over one hundred thousand people and their pets in mandatory evacuations. While there are people doing good every day, it is in times of great natural disaster that you truly see the humanity of strangers coming together to help one another and last week was no exception.

There are so many to thank for their selfless actions during the San Diego fires, first and foremost the fearless firefighters who risked their lives to save others. Anxious families waited home while their loved ones went off to fight the blaze, and we want to extend a special thank you to these brave men and women, our firefighters! The winds made these blazing fires even more dangerous yet they fought day after day to put them out.

The San Diego Humane Society is always working to protect animals and during last weeks events they worked even harder to ensure all pets were cared for whether with their families or not. By providing animal evacuation and support efforts the SDHS not only housed displaced animals while their families were evacuated, but they went back into evacuated areas to search for animals in danger who may have been left behind and kept the community informed via social media throughout the entire ordeal. For those who were not able to evacuate their animals themselves, the Animal Rescue Reserve provided the assistance needed to get all animals to safety. They also offered supplies, beds, and food for those who had been evacuated.

And finally a heartfelt thank you to the first responders, volunteers, helpers, and supporters who selflessly contributed during the fires. The community really stepped up  to take care of each other and because of that thousands of animals are safe and happy today.

Humane Law Enforcement team: Officer Beeson & Officer Seuferer check evacuated homes for animals in San Marcos.

Officer Austin Seuferer calls in a horse trailer for response. A horse, goat, & sheep needed emergency evacuation.

Pet owners had the option of sleeping alongside their pets so they aren't separated while at evacuation centers.

FUNdraising at Bark and Bowl!

If you live near Fort Worth, Florida and happen to have Friday night free you should head to Bark and Bowl at the Palm Beach Strike Zone in Lake Worth, Florida for a night of FUNdraising, emphasis on FUN. Crazy Rebels goodies will be up for grabs (this these) as well as other awesome raffle prizes too. The event is set to include schWAG bags stuffed with rebel coupons and super cool prizes, DJ Flash spinning beats to wag your tail to, Rock N Bowl lighting shining on over 60 lanes and 600 bowlers, the Budweiser and Tito’s Vodka DogBar, and amazing raffles for trips and one of a kind silent auction items all while raising funds to benefit The National Canine Cancer Foundation.

Eileen and Chris Pike started Bark and Bowl five years ago after losing both of their sweet dogs to cancer. Their loss was devastating, so this event has not only been therapeutic for the couple but has also sought to honor all dogs who have lost their fight with cancer including their own special Kiara and Skyler.

The National Canine Cancer Foundation launched the Bark and Bowl event in South Florida and has so far hosted over 2,000 bowlers and helped raise $200,000 for canine cancer research. Bark and Bowl has expanded to cover five major cities including Jacksonville, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, Portland,  and Las Vegas and continues to grow every year.

Eileen and Chris joined The National Canine Cancer Foundation to honor Kiara & Skyler, to fight to save their newly adopted pups, and to fight for your dogs too. One in three dogs will be diagnosed with some type of cancer in their lifetime and of that half of them will die. We are out to break that cycle, and if we all work together we can be the cure!

Join the event this Friday. Donate where you can. And hug your dog often.

We Care!

We care. We care a whole lot, which is why we have partnered with the National Canine Cancer Foundation to spread hope and raise funds to fight cancer in dogs. The National Canine Cancer Foundation is on an all out mission to eliminate cancer as a major health issue in dogs. By dedicating their contributions to directly funding cancer research they are working to save dogs lives by finding cures, better treatments and accurate, cost effective diagnostic methods in dealing with canine Cancer, and diminishing dogs suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Their accurately named “We Are The Cure campaign” is intended to rally every person who loves dogs to help turn research into treatments and cures that can soon benefit all dogs fighting for their lives because of Cancer.

One of the things we love most about dogs is how big their hearts are. No matter what they are always ready to love, so we’d like to try to give as much of that back to them as possible by donating to this incredible cause. In honor of Pet Cancer Awareness Month we are donating a portion of sales from our Strength collar and Cancer inspired charms for the entire month of May, directly to the National Canine Cancer Foundation.
