FUNdraising at Bark and Bowl!

If you live near Fort Worth, Florida and happen to have Friday night free you should head to Bark and Bowl at the Palm Beach Strike Zone in Lake Worth, Florida for a night of FUNdraising, emphasis on FUN. Crazy Rebels goodies will be up for grabs (this these) as well as other awesome raffle prizes too. The event is set to include schWAG bags stuffed with rebel coupons and super cool prizes, DJ Flash spinning beats to wag your tail to, Rock N Bowl lighting shining on over 60 lanes and 600 bowlers, the Budweiser and Tito’s Vodka DogBar, and amazing raffles for trips and one of a kind silent auction items all while raising funds to benefit The National Canine Cancer Foundation.

Eileen and Chris Pike started Bark and Bowl five years ago after losing both of their sweet dogs to cancer. Their loss was devastating, so this event has not only been therapeutic for the couple but has also sought to honor all dogs who have lost their fight with cancer including their own special Kiara and Skyler.

The National Canine Cancer Foundation launched the Bark and Bowl event in South Florida and has so far hosted over 2,000 bowlers and helped raise $200,000 for canine cancer research. Bark and Bowl has expanded to cover five major cities including Jacksonville, Philadelphia, Pittsburg, Portland,  and Las Vegas and continues to grow every year.

Eileen and Chris joined The National Canine Cancer Foundation to honor Kiara & Skyler, to fight to save their newly adopted pups, and to fight for your dogs too. One in three dogs will be diagnosed with some type of cancer in their lifetime and of that half of them will die. We are out to break that cycle, and if we all work together we can be the cure!

Join the event this Friday. Donate where you can. And hug your dog often.

Paws on the Promenade

It's no secret that we love dogs, really we just can't get enough. So any chance we get to set up shop and hang out with tons of cool pups and their people all day, we are down. Every October our local animal shelter Animal Friends of the Valleys hosts Paws on the Promenade, a fundraising/ Halloween celebrating/ costume contest spectacular event and this year we got to join in on the fun. The event raised funds for the shelter to aid in the rescue of many more lives.

Our favorite part of the day was seeing all the super creative canine costumes, and of course outfitting tons of dogs in glow-in-the-dark skeleton hoodies and Halloween bandanas. There's still time to score Halloween gear at up to 50%  off, just head over here for bandana collars and here for hoodies.

vvv This awesome Mastiff was rescued from Animal Friends as a skinny, sad dog. He now clearly lives the good life and looks happy and healthy. He showed up decked out in furry lion style and took home best in show! vvv

Pool Party

Yesterday we helped celebrate the grand opening of Country Kennels Dawg Water Park and it was awesome! A water park for dogs, isn't that just about the coolest place ever?! Hello summer time fun. This beautiful dog play haven is situated on rolling hills of astroturf (so no muddy paws) and features a bone shaped pool complete with a diving platform for dock jumping, fountains, and tons of space to run and play.

Excited dogs and their people started lining up before they even opened the gates, and continued to pile in all day long. Hundreds of dogs romped in the water; splashing around, jumping for toys, and playing with new friends. So many awesome dogs and their humans stopped by our Rebel booth to say hi.  We met dozens of dogs big and small, puppies and rescues, and even a sweet deaf pup named Sadie.

The water park is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. for open swim. The park is also available by reservation for private parties and group swim. We can't wait to host our next doggie birthday party here!!

Brunch for the Bullies: A Fun Fundraiser

We have a soft spot for bulldogs. There is just something about all those wrinkles and that adorably squishy face that we can't resist. We could not have been more excited to start our Sunday at Brunch for the Bullies to benefit the So Cal Bulldog Rescue. This particular event is one of their biggest fundraising initiatives for the year and we feel so honored to have been able to contribute to the cause. Crazy Rebels donated a custom portrait to their silent auction, and we cannot wait to see which lucky bully took home the final bid (because we get to draw him or her!!!). In total the Brunch for the Bullies raised over $18,000 to benefit the bulldogs in rescue, which is just so very incredible!

SCBDR currently has over 75 dogs in their program which is an all time high, so every bit of generosity really counts. 45 of those bullies are in awesome foster homes and the other 30 are getting love and care at a kenneling facility. Some very special English Bulldogs made an appearance at the brunch where they received the star treatment and attention.

Such a great turn out So Cal Bulldog Rescue!

Busy Saturday: Wines For Canines & Fido Fashion Show Fundraiser

Wines for Canines and the Fido Fashion Show are a collaborative event put on by local rescue, Animal Friends of the Valleys to raise money for their shelter. On Saturday the sold out event took place at Wiens Cellars Winery in Temecula and featured a silent auction, to which we donated one of our custom hand drawn portraits to one lucky bidder, raffle prizes, a live auction, food and wine, and of course a dog fashion show.

Our foster dog Snoop made his debut in the Fido Fashion Show, where he rocked the house in his very own rebel hoodie and stylish Diesel collar. All dogs in the fashion show were dressed to the nines and available for adoption. Our mister Snoop dog didn’t find a forever home yet, but we are kind of in love with him so we don’t mind.

The event raised over $10,000 for Animal Friends of the Valleys and we are super grateful to have been apart of such a pawsome fundraiser.
