Sizes 12" - 13" through 18"- 20" measure 1" (+padding about 1-1/2" total width) with no taper at the buckle. Sizes 14" - 16" through 15" - 17" measure 1-1/2" (+padding about 2" total width) and taper to a 1" buckle. Sizes 16" - 18" and up measure 1-1/2" (+padding about 2" total width) with no taper at the buckle. Convo heart and rainbow color padding placement is at random and will vary from collar to collar.
Some notes on specialty leather: We offer tons of specialty leather options including distress leather, hair-on, suede, mermaid scales, and more. These materials are more delicate that our standard leather and are more for decorative use than hardy, everyday collars. For this reason we do not recommend getting these specialty leathers wet, muddy, or other super rough or dirty activities as they are harder to clean and may not hold up through numerous cleanings.
Not sure on the size? Each collar is made with love especially for your dog. Our collars have 5 holes, 1/2" apart. For a perfect fit we suggest ordering your dog's neck size on the second smallest/tightest hole, so if your dog has a 17.5" neck you would order the 17" - 19". If you have a puppy or a dog that is still growing we recommend ordering the size with their neck measurement on the first hole, so if your puppy measures 17" you would order the 17" - 19".
