A Sweet Celebration

For Dakoda's 2nd birthday party we made her Peanut Butter Frosted Applesauce (pup)cupcakes. Let's just say they were a huge hit. Most of her guests devoured their cupcake in a single bite, with the exception of Cupcake who despite her name takes a little longer to eat her sweets.

The recipe was super simple to make, just remember to frost them right before serving so the frosting stays fluffy and fresh.

Peanut Butter Banana Cupcakes for Diesel

If there is one thing this boy loves, it is peanut butter. So we knew his first choice of pupcake flavor for his birthday would of course have to involve a whole lot of pb. Diesel stood watch in the kitchen the entire time his cupcakes were in the making as if to say, “I know those are for me.”

He licked the spoon, and then patiently waited while his cupcakes baked. He could barely contain himself as we insisted on singing happy birthday, and then proceeded to consume an entire peanut butter banana cupcake in one bite. Needless to say, the rebel crew agrees these cupcakes are 4-paw approved!

Valentine's Day Treats for Sweet Pups

Valentine's Day is pretty much the perfect excuse to bake heart shaped dog treats, although our pack would argue that EVERY day is a perfect excuse to bake them treats. For today we baked dozens of bite size cookies and packaged them with ribbon and a Valentine note for Diesel and Dakoda to share with their friends at play school. Cupcake supervised the baking and helped taste test the final product. She approves.

These cheesy biscuits are the perfect size cookies for dogs of all sizes, and our three dogs will tell you, they are super delicious too.

Pupcakes for Cupcake

Pupcakes for Cupcake

Our sweet rebel Malshi, Cupcake, turned 3 doggie years old so of course we made her cupcakes because well, it is after all her namesake. She celebrated her day with lots of extra cuddles, yummy treats, and an extra long play session... in the mud! Which for this little white fluff ball is quite the big deal.

We have found that while there are dozens of recipes for canine goodies, many of the cake and cupcake variations involve some combination of peanut butter and carrot which works out well because the rebel house is always fully stocked with both. Cupcake shared her birthday pupcakes with her dog friends, but for her friend Stella who is allergic to dairy, we frosted her pupcake with peanut butter.

We love you so miss Cupcake!

Pumpkin Dog Treats

One of the most seasonally anticipated treats is of course pumpkin pie. So as Thanksgiving neared and the number of cans of pumpkin in our cupboard continued to grow, we decided the only fair thing to do was to bake pumpkin treats for our rebel pack. Pumpkin is very good for dogs and helps with their digestion, so not only are these dog treats yummy and seasonal, they are healthy too.
